
Man Arrested in Kilkeel in Early-Morning Drugs Bust
A man in his 20s has been arrested in Kilkeel on suspicion of a number of serious drug-related offences following proactive police action in the early hours of Wednesday, 18 June.
According to Sergeant Gracey, officers were patrolling the Scrogg Road area when they spotted a vehicle being driven suspiciously. The vehicle was intercepted shortly afterwards on Newry Street.
“Following a search of the vehicle, officers recovered a quantity of suspected Class A controlled drugs along with a sum of cash,” said Sergeant Gracey. “The driver was arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class A drug, possession with intent to supply, and possessing criminal property. He remains in custody and is currently assisting with enquiries.”

Sergeant Gracey added: “This arrest highlights our ongoing efforts to disrupt the supply and circulation of illegal drugs in our communities. We’re committed to keeping the streets safe and holding those involved in drug crime accountable.”
