
Detectives are appealing for information following a knife-point robbery in the Merchants Quay area of Newry in the early hours of Saturday morning, 5th July.
According to Detective Sergeant Johnston, the incident occurred shortly after 1am when a man was approached by an unknown individual dressed in dark clothing and armed with a knife.

The suspect demanded money and forced the victim to walk to a nearby ATM. During the ordeal, the victim’s bank card was stolen, although he managed to flee the scene.
Fortunately, the man was not physically harmed, but police say he has been left badly shaken by the experience.
An investigation is underway and anyone with information, dash cam or CCTV footage from the area at the time is urged to come forward.
