
Two Arrested Following Stabbing Incident in Downpatrick
Police have arrested two men after a stabbing during a reported disturbance in Downpatrick on Monday evening.
The incident occurred in the Gallun area around 6.25pm on 26th May. According to Sergeant Cameron, officers responded to reports of an ongoing altercation involving two men.

“One of the men sustained stab wounds during the altercation,” Sergeant Cameron said. “Emergency services, including the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, attended the scene. The injured man was taken to hospital for treatment. Thankfully, his injuries are not believed to be serious.”
Following the incident, a 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent. A 20-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of making threats to commit criminal damage.
Both individuals remain in police custody as investigations continue.
